We spent some good times with some great friends in Berkeley on Tuesday and Wednesday (Nov. 14 and 15). It seems we’re well in to our travel mode: we find ourselves walking for transportation and recreation for several hours daily (I wonder how that will be when we’re half frozen in Europe!). We walked up the hill to “Indian Rock” at night for a gorgeous view of the bay and San Francisco on the other side, and the next day walked down to the bay for the daytime view of “The City.”
On Wednesday night we drove across the Bay Bridge to stay with some friends in the Mission District of San Francisco, where we stayed until Friday mid-day. More good food and good times. We walked out to Land’s End on the ocean side of the bay Thursday, where we got within 10 feet of a gorgeous red-tail hawk, frolicked on the sand, and climbed around some “ruins.” Andrew collected seed from some naturalized New Zealand Spinach, Wild Radish, and Nasturtiums (it never ends!). We then went back to the house and prepared Thai food together in honor of one of our new friends that flew out to Thailand that night.
